Why would I use SpaySecure instead of just spaying/neutering before sale?

More vets now recommend waiting until physical maturity before sterilization. Better joint development, reduced cancer risk, better long-term health. But selling intact means trusting buyers to follow through. SpaySecure makes that trust enforceable.

Who is SpaySecure for?

Dog and cat breeders who sell pets with spay/neuter requirements. Works for hobby breeders with a few litters a year or larger operations.

Is SpaySecure only for dogs?

No. We work with dog breeders, cat breeders, and breeders of other companion animals.

How much does SpaySecure cost?

Do you work internationally?

SpaySecure offers full sterilization agreement services (contracts, enforcement, compliance tracking) in the United States, Canada, and Australia. For breeders in other countries, we may be able to provide CRM features and compliance tracking tools. Contact us to discuss your specific needs and location.

Contracts & Legal

Are the contracts legally enforceable?

Yes. Our sterilization agreements are designed for enforceability and include all the key provisions needed to protect your breeding program. The contracts have been tested and held up when challenged legally.

Are electronic signatures legally binding?

Yes. Electronic signatures are legally binding under the ESIGN Act (US) and similar laws. SpaySecure keeps a complete audit trail with timestamps, IP addresses, and signature records.

Can I customize the contract?

Yes. You can customize deadlines, liquidated damages amounts, specific terms, and add your kennel branding. The core legal framework stays intact to ensure enforceability.

What if a buyer has a co-owner?

SpaySecure supports dual signatures. Add a second buyer, and both parties must sign before the contract is complete.

What happens if a buyer doesn't comply?

Most buyers comply when they receive professional reminders and follow-up. For the small percentage who refuse, our enforcement team handles professional escalation on your behalf. We document everything, pursue the remedies specified in your contract, and keep you informed throughout the process.

Can I cancel or void a contract after it's signed?

Yes. From your dashboard, you can mark contracts as void or cancelled. This stops all reminders and closes the compliance tracking. Useful if a buyer returns the pet or if special circumstances arise.

What if a buyer disputes the contract or claims they didn't sign it?

SpaySecure maintains a complete audit trail with timestamps, IP addresses, identity verification, and signature records. This documentation proves the signing occurred and is admissible in court.

How It Works

How does deadline tracking work?

You set a sterilization deadline when creating the contract (6 months, 1 year, or custom date). SpaySecure tracks it and sends automatic reminders to buyers as the deadline approaches.

What reminders are sent to buyers?

Buyers receive automatic email reminders before their deadline, and a final notice on the deadline date. You receive notifications about upcoming and overdue contracts so you can stay on top of compliance.

How do buyers submit proof?

Buyers get an email with a link to upload vet records, certificates, or photos. No account required on their end - they just click the link and upload their documentation.

What counts as valid proof?

You decide. Most breeders accept a vet invoice, spay/neuter certificate, or photo. You review all submissions and can approve them or request additional information.

Can buyers request deadline extensions?

Yes. Buyers can submit extension requests through the portal with their reason for delay. You review and approve from your dashboard. The system updates deadlines and reminder schedules automatically.

What if a buyer changes their email or contact info?

Buyers can update their contact information through the portal link in any email. You can also update buyer contact details from your dashboard.

What if the buyer's vet won't provide documentation?

Most vets provide spay/neuter certificates or invoices. If a vet refuses, buyers can submit photos, vaccination records showing the procedure, or have their vet contact you directly. You decide what proof is acceptable.

What is SpaySecure Plus?

SpaySecure Plus includes everything in the base plan (sterilization agreements, compliance tracking, enforcement) PLUS full contract and record management: upload your own sales agreement templates, import litter data from spreadsheets, send all contracts with pre-filled info, manage pet records, and generate professional pedigree certificates.

How does it compare to using separate tools?

Most breeders use multiple disconnected tools: e-signature services, manual spreadsheets for litter tracking, and separate systems for contracts and pedigrees. SpaySecure Plus consolidates all of this into one platform.

Can I import my existing data?

Yes. Import litter and pet data from Excel, CSV, or Google Sheets. You can also export all your data at any time.

Your breeder uses SpaySecure to manage sterilization agreements. This is standard practice for responsible breeders who sell pets intact. The contract outlines when sterilization needs to happen and how to submit proof.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can sign contracts and submit proof through email links. No account or app download required.

What if I need more time?

You can request a deadline extension through the portal. Your breeder reviews extension requests and can approve them if you have a legitimate reason for delay.

How do I submit proof of sterilization?

Click the link in your reminder email to upload vet records, a certificate, or photos. Your breeder will review and confirm.

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption for all data transmission and storage. We don't share your data with third parties.

Can I export my data?
